The French are happy. They have their food, their wine, their laissez faire and pretty young girls that melt your soul. The Dutch have learnt to live together in the smallest of spaces in spite of a continuous crossing of paths. They are rather straightforward and direct. The British love life, are proud of themselves and all they do. They possess a healthy ego and pride. Most criticism they simply ignore.
The Belgians keep themselves pretty much to themselves. The Spanish, Portuguese and Italians to the south enjoy many sunny days that make life easier. In the east, the Polish, Czechs, Slovaks and other nations further south manage to survive with drive, mastering all that's thrown at them.
What is it about being German? On the one hand, they are surrounded by several nations, who simply grasp life by the horns and live. On the other, the Germans whist having achieved an amazing amount and Germany is a country that has a distinctly evolved society that is meanwhile more relaxed with itself. We are still hindered, however, in achieving an emotional lightness within society and a general contentedness.
Many also live with the belief that they still need to be punished. For a past that, at the end of the day, others created and for a history that their ancestors helped to define. Twenty years after the most dramatic and wonderfully peaceful events in living memory, the time has come to tell everyone, including ourselves, that we are pretty okay and Germany is a pretty neat Nation!
